Meet The CRA Board - Page Under Construction

Ildi Klein
I’ve had the honor of serving as Executive Director of Come Rest Awhile after first joining the organization in 2015 as House Manager. From the beginning, I felt deeply connected to CRA’s mission and the women we serve. Creating a home where women in recovery can feel safe, supported, and empowered is my passion and purpose.
I hold Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Human Studies and Religion and Philosophy from Marylhurst University, along with a Master’s in Applied Theology and a Pastoral Care Certificate. I also completed Clinical Pastoral Education at Providence Hospital, which strengthened my ability to walk with others through some of life’s most challenging seasons.
At CRA, I strive to cultivate an atmosphere of hospitality and safety—one that builds self-confidence and invites transformation. I believe every woman deserves the chance to start again, and I’m grateful every day to be part of a place that helps make that possible.

Sue Smith
I’m a proud neighbor of the CRA home and have had the joy of serving as both a board member and scribe since 2020. I first connected with CRA through the local AA meetings and quickly felt drawn to support the women in residence with encouragement and fellowship.
My professional background includes years as a corporate legal assistant in major litigation firms in Denver and Washington, D.C., along with leadership roles as Executive Director for community art galleries in North Carolina and the Cayman Islands. I’ve also served as a volunteer coordinator for the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts.
CRA’s mission resonates deeply with me—every woman in early recovery deserves a safe, supportive place to heal and grow, and I’m honored to help make that possible. I assist with policy guidance and administrative tasks, and I wholeheartedly support CRA through hands-on involvement and fundraising efforts.
When I’m not volunteering, you’ll find me hiking, kayaking, skiing, reading, or crafting piñatas—each activity a reminder of the joy found in both creativity and community.

Clay Poppert - Treasurer
I first connected with Come Rest Awhile in 2015 through volunteering on repair and remodeling projects—and what started as a way to lend a hand quickly became a calling. I grew to love CRA’s mission and found a meaningful way to serve through the skills I’ve carried with me since childhood.
My father taught me construction through hands-on home improvement projects, and by high school, I was working in local glass shops. That path led to a 26-year career in the glazing industry as an estimator, project manager, and business owner. In 2002, I launched Willamette Construction, Inc., building over 50 homes before retiring.
At CRA, I continue to give back through hands-on support and facilities guidance, helping create a safe and welcoming environment for the women we serve. I’ve learned that no matter your background or trade, there’s always a place to make a difference—and often, when you volunteer, it’s your own life that’s changed most.

Diana Wesley
I serve on the CRA Board with deep gratitude and commitment, bringing my heart for healing and years of experience in emotional wellness to support the women in residence. As a creative therapist and longtime advocate for inner transformation, I believe every woman deserves a second chance—and a safe, structured place to rediscover her worth.
My background spans energy psychology, faith-based healing, and strategic branding. I’ve authored books on personal growth and emotional resilience, and I regularly help nonprofits and small businesses amplify their message through design, storytelling, and marketing. I’m passionate about equipping women with practical tools and spiritual insight to walk out lasting change.
At CRA, I contribute by shaping communication efforts, developing resources, and offering both prayerful and practical support wherever needed. I believe recovery is sacred work—and I’m honored to stand beside the women and leaders who make that possible.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy gardening, writing, creating AI art, white water rafting, working with my 3 Australian Shepherds and spending time with my granddaughter, who reminds me daily of the beauty in growth and grace.
